this is a block from my office ...

"An avid gardener in my plot of white popcorn as President of the Hewlett-Packard (HP) Garden Club in Cupertino, CA . After the popcorn was harvested and dried, an ear of kernels were freshly popped each afternoon break for the Cupertino HP Electronic Maintenance (computer repair) shop technicians (where I worked).

History: the Cupertino HP site acreage was purchased from Varian Associates who had bought the land from six of Cupertino's largest landowners in the early 1960's.

The first garden was located where buildings 44 and 46 are today and later moved to East of
the site's Pruneridge Ave. entrance. The site's employee garden was again moved to its last
location where building 45N's parking lot is today. The image's background is the corner
of Homestead and Tantau Avenues.
